Sydney Aquarium Upgrade

Located on the city side of Darling Harbour, Sydney Aquarium underwent a programme of refurbishment, redesign and rebranding to form part of the SEALIFE franchise - Merlin's No.1 global aquarium brand.

The new SEALIFE Sydney Aquarium visitor experience was greatly improved, taking visitors through 14 new zones of discovery; two new major features are the Tropical Bay of Rays exhibit, with a large variety of species of ray, including the blue-spotted maskray, leopard sharks, white-spotted guitarfish and leopard whiprays, and the refurbishment of Oceanarium Tank 1 with new whale bone theming, lighting and glass floor shark walk.

AMA was engaged to provide architectural services and act as Kay Elliott Architects representative during the construction phase of the project.
